Torsten Odland

I am philosopher and lecturer in the Philosophy Department at California State University, Long Beach who works on Philosophy of Language, Logic, and Mind.

My research concerns the nature of truth and the representational capacities of thinkers. I investigate questions like: would there be any truths if there were no minds? is truth instrinsically a kind of correctness? do lingusitic features like singular/plural correspond to anything in the mind-indepent structure of the world?

I'm also I'm interested in European Early Modern Philosophy (esp. Leibniz), Classical Indian Philosophy, and philosophy of science.
